Ladies and Gents,

Welcome to the RAF Shawbury Motorcycle Rider Weekend Website.

The first Rider Day took place on 3rd August 13, and was an absolute success. 159 riders took to the track in 3 groups, and a total of approximately £6300 was raised. This money is added to the Station's charity pot, and the nominated annual charities receive the money at the end of the year.

The RAF Shawbury Station Charity for 2013 was Severn Hospice, who give specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire and North Powys who are living with an incurable illness.

For 2015 we ran a two day event with a slightly modified track, raising over £16,500. The RAF Shawbury Station Charities for 2016 were Walking With The Wounded and Cuan Wildlife Rescue.

In 2016 the funds increased more to nearly £20,000 with another two new Station Charities nominated:

SANDS - Stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Supporting anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby before, during or shortly after birth.  Offering emotional support and information for parents, grandparents, siblings, children, families and friends, health professionals and others.

Shrewsbury Ark - A safe haven in the centre of Shrewsbury providing practical and emotional support for those in need or distress.

Thank you very much for your support for these worthwhile charities.

With an increase in entry fees for this year it looks like 2017 could be the biggest earner of all, and still ridiculously cheap for a whole weekend of riding.
